Let It ECHO, Inc. goes out of town.

It was a nerve-wracking situation brought about by the destructive 7.2 magnitude earthquake last October 15, 2013 but instead of choosing to stay at home safe with our respective families, Let It ECHO core members chose to provide hope and love to the Caral and Lawas Family.

One of the MISSION statement of the Let It ECHO, Inc. is to empower CHD-stricken Filipino families with our survival stories. In this connection, we turned over the garage sale items to our two beneficiary families here in Cebu so that they could start their own campaign and raise awareness about their kid’s situation while raising funds.

First stop down south: Caral Residence in Minglanilla.

Despite their humble way of living, Caral Family managed to serve us some refreshments to take away the heat and stress brought to us by the heavy traffic on the way to their house.

Our 6-year-old heart warrior, Ferdie Caral suffering from Tetralogy of Fallot. When we visited him, his clubbed fingernails and toenails, blue lips and shortness of breath is very much noticeable.

As seen in this picture, Ferdie (bottom right corner) is in a sitting position (like that of a fetus inside the womb). This is a reflex he's developed to help his body cope with his shortness of breath.

Before leaving, the Let It ECHO team poses before the camera together with the Caral family.

After the formal turnover of the garage sale items to the Caral family and some updates on their fund raising drive, we were on our way to Danao where the Lawas family lives.

On our way to Danao, we managed to grab some quick lunch to comfort our grumbling tummies (not to mention the grumbling earth crust that day!) Pardon the blurry picture. :)

With us is 7-month-old Lawrence Lawas.

With us is 7-month-old Lawrence Lawas. Without exaggeration, my handbag is heavier than he is.

7-month-old baby Lawrence Lawas is also suffering from Tetralogy of Fallot and his family needs to raise at least P800,000 for him to have his life-saving open-heart surgery as soon as possible.

On our way home, we dropped by the resting place of our heart angel, baby Alexa Maloloy-on located in Manila Memorial Park in Liloan, Cebu to say a little prayer for her.

That mega-quake didn’t stop us from providing hope to these two families. May their soon-success stories be echoed to other Filipino heart families and become a source of strength and hope.

P.S.

Oops! Before I forget, look at this cute shot of the Let It ECHO daddies at the Amora’s residence playing with LEGO bricks while waiting for the shaking grounds to calm down. πŸ˜€
